Before Watchmen: Minutemen is the first of several Before Watchmen mini-series to come out this summer. It will be in stores everywhere tomorrow, and likely begin a long fueled war of those who love it and those who hate it. But before all that truly begins, we have your first 5-pages of the comic available below.

This is no Alan Moore writing, nor is it Dave Gibbon’s artwork. Never the less, it looks nice and doesn’t read poorly. Of course, it shouldn’t read poorly when you have a superstar like Darwyn Cooke on both art and writing for the title. I personally have no doubt that this comic will be a good one, with the preview reinforcing that, but the question still burns at me, “Should DC truly have done this?” Keep that haunting question in mind as you read through the preview below. But in the same, if you intend to enjoy the prequels? Take pleasure in noting that they are doing a good job trying to match the artistic styles of the original series. From the heavy uses of clocks to the mirrored and repeated shapes in panels, though this is not Watchmen, it has the feel of Watchmen.
