Tensions below the surface have reached a breaking point in the newest volume of Michael Turner’s Fathom, as war between the Blue and the humans becomes inevitable. The special-forces unit of the Japanese Undersea Army prepares to launch their full power attack upon the Church of the Eternal Depths and only Aspen Matthews, the series beautiful and powerful protagonist, can prevent a sub-oceanic holocaust! For the legions of Fathom fans who have been waiting to see Aspen in her element and taking control of her life, now is the time to jump on the series as Fathom turns it up a notch in its sixth issue of the long running series. Issue #6 of Fathom hits stores tomorrow, yet you can see a lovely preview of the first few pages done by artist Alex Konat and colorist Beth Sotelo below. Furthermore, issue #6 marks the first issue fully written by fan favorite writer, David Wohl, after Scott Lobdell’s unexpected departure from the series (likely due to a swamping schedule over at DC comics). Wohl will likely bring an interesting and fun new tone to the series, as volume 4 prepares to bring the oceans to a boil.
