Udon Entertainment, the company behind countless beautiful comics and art books that are often associated in some way with the characters of Capcom, is putting out yet another visually stunning product. Marvel vs. Capcom: Official Complete Works is a brand-new art book collecting all of the official artwork, sketches, and bonus material from all of Marvel and Capcom’s video game collaborations. This includes artwork from way back in 1993, with The Punisher arcade game, through the very recent and high selling 2012 smash-hit video game, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which saw release on Playstation 3, PSP, and the X-Box 360. That is just short of 20-years of awesome comic-meets-video-game artwork! This 192-page, full color collection was put together with close cooperation from Marvel and Capcom, even using Capcom’s creative head, Shoei Okano,  to help Udon Entertainment dig deep through Capcom’s vast archives to find extremely rare high-resolution art and materials for the book. It is worth noting this artbook will also be quite the big deal, as no Marvel vs. Capcom artbook was ever printed in Japan! Make this all the more rare, while the softcover edition of Marvel vs. Capcom: Official Complete Works hits stores on November 20, 2012, Udon has a special deal for Comic Con International attendees. As always, attendees of San Diego’s famous comic convention will get the rare chance at countless cool and rare exclusives. However, one of the rarer and more amazing exclusives at this year’s Comic Con will be Udon’s Hardcover Edition of Marvel vs. Capcom: Official Complete Works. Sized at 9” x 12” (slightly larger than the 8.25″ X 11.75″ softcover) and featuring an exclusive wrap-around cover by UDON and Marvel vs. Capcom artist Alvin Lee, digitally painted by UDON`s Genzoman, this hardcover edition will be limited to just 200 copies! They go on sale at Comic Con on Wednesday July 11th, for a rather reasonable $100 (and I only say reasonable because you all know it will sell for double that online the following week).

Now if you’re not demanding a hardcover or exclusive copy of this magnificent looking artbook, and can handle waiting an extra 4 months, the softcover edition of Marvel vs. Capcom: Official Complete Works will cost a much more affordable $44.99 (and Amazon is even willing to beat that with a lower cost found here). But what will the book contain? The artbook is filled with stunning artworks by dozens of creators, including Akiman, Bengus, Shinkiro, Joe Madureira, Adi Granov, and more. Complementing the classic art pieces are an all-new gallery of stunning Marvel vs. Capcom illustrations by comic superstars such as Joe Ng, Long Vo, Chamba, Adam Warren, and Takeshi Miyazawa! This is an original Udon artbook and has no Japanese equivalent, yet it Includes all of the promotional artwork, a complete art archive of all Marvel vs. Capcom character drawings, and rare, never-before-seen pieces, sketches, and bonus material from the Capcom games The Punisher, X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men VS Street Fighter™, Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter™, Marvel VS Capcom, Marvel VS Capcom 2, Marvel VS Capcom 3, and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. It will even include 17 entirely new illustrations exclusive to this book. Now if all that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will. So make sure to call up your local comic shop or pre-order the book on Amazon, if you’re not going to try for the Comic Con exclusive hardcover, because this is going to be one popular release from Udon Entertainment.
