Captain Marvel #1 Art Preview
After her first appearance with her new costume and new title last week in Avenging Spider-man #9, Carol Danvers (now Captain Marvel) has her newest on-going series premiering this Wednesday. Captain Marvel #1 is put together by the powerhouse creative team of Kelly Sue DeConnick (Supergirl, Osborn) & Dexter Soy (Army of Two, Spartacus: Blood and Sand), and will feature a cover by Ed McGuinness (Hulk, Avengers: X-Sanction). This female written female protagonist is a move from Marvel sure to please many fans that have been pleading for more women in comics, but should also be an all around great title thanks to DeConnick and Soy. This initial issue, set at the now considered low price of $2.99, will guest star Captain America and start a brand new journey for the ex-Air Force pilot turned cosmic Avenger. Check out the opening 4-pages of art by Dexter Soy and the virgin cover from Ed McGuinness below. Captain Marvel #1 hits stores July 18th, so make sure to pick up your copy then.
