San Diego Comic Con ’12: Marvel Hosts Iron Man 3 Kids’ Costume Event
Marvel Studios, in an amazing promotion aimed at young comic fans (or parents who are comic obsessed), will be hosting an “Iron Man 3” Kids’ Costume Event on Saturday, July 14, at 12:30 p.m. at the Marvel booth (#2329), at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The event is open to all children ages 2-14 who come dressed as Iron Man. Anyone looking to participate in the costume event should arrive at the Marvel booth early (by 12:10 at least) to prepare for the event. A group photo of all the costumed children will be taken on stage and featured on Marvel.com. Best of all, All participating children (or rather parents of) will also receive a poster autographed by Robert Downey Jr. I can only imagine how many comic book fans are right now running to their garages to bang out a metal Iron Baby armor before heading to Comic-Con tomorrow.
“Iron Man 3” is set for release May 3, 2013, continuing the epic adventures of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka “Iron Man.” The film, of course, stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, along with Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, and producer Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black with Shane Black directing. Executive producers on the project include Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard and Dan Mintz.
Later Saturday there will be the big Iron Man 3 panel in Hall H, with some cast expected to show and perhaps even a bit off footage to be revealed from the upcoming film, which is currently in production. Here is the information for that:
