This weekend the staff of Speak Geeky To Me will be hitting Los Angeles’ Comikaze Expo, sponsored by Stan Lee’s Pow! Entertainment and Elvira. With the recent heatwave that has been melting Southern California, what better way could you think to spend your weekend? The comic themed convention will be packed with guests who have acted in films and television, created countless classic comics, cartoon animators, and even a few guys who have done all of the above. There’s even going to be a reunion of the cast of Nickelodeon’s Salute Your Shorts, a classic 90′s television series that is celebrating its 20th anniversary! Quite a few great comic companies will be exhibiting at the show, along side countless retailers, comic artists, and even…Knott’s Berry Farm!?! But that’s not all, as attendees can screen Stan Lee’s new documentary, watch the Whimsic Alley Cup Quidditch Tournament between UCLA and USC live, and compete in a zombie apocalypse survival course. History: Comikaze’s first began in 2011, with a rather large turn out for a first year convention. It was designed to be a comic, anime, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror convention in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The convention was created by Regina and Mario Carpinelli, with the aid of their close friends Klaus Moeller and Shelle Mannion. But after the first year it gained sponsorship from Stan Lee and his Pow! Entertainment company, changing its name to Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo.
