Soulfire vol.4 #2 Preview
Michael Turner’s epic tale of magic and science fiction continues this week in Soulfire #2. This fourth volume of the Soulfire series has already started with quite a bang, following up the big Soulfire summer event, Search for the Light. Now the story continues to ramp up as we see an evil, chaotic version of Malikai’s once mentor, Grace. Whilst the city of Anantia is in the midst of war with itself and under the malicious rule of the new King Sarin, evil things are afoot! Can the dragons be save from their horrible fate, and will Grace succumb to the corrupted fury of Chaos that has invaded her mind? Will the Sethoru and Rathumi ever reconcile their differences? You’ll have to pick up the latest issue of Soulfire, in stores September 26th, to find out!The fourth volume of Soulfire continues to be scripted by long time series writer, J.T. Krul (G.I. Combat, Captain Atom), who is doing an incredible job keeping fans on the edge of their seats and deeply involved in the return of magic. Meanwhile, Mike Debalfo (Grimm Fairy Tales, Tales from Wonderland: The Red Rose) meets the high bar that has been set by previous Soulfire interior artists and exceeds it with stunning work in yet another great issue of the series. Of course, he’s not alone, with amazing supplementary work from colorist Nei Ruffino (Green Lantern: New Guardians, Birds of Prey). Together, this team is making volume 4 of Soulfire look to be the best one yet. This issue even features some of the better Soulfire covers, with 4 great pieces by Mike DeBalfo, Nei Ruffino, Tony Parker and Peter Steigerwald. Take particular note of the beautiful D cover done exclusively for Las Vegas Comic Expo by DeBalfo and Ruffino.
