August 2013 Solicits For DC Comics

DC has some final issues set to come out this August along with some special one-shots. Continuing DC’s big summer event of the Trinity War, there is a Trinity War Directors Cut special which features Geoff John’s script and Ivan Reis’ penciles. You can also look forward to the huge Batman Inc Special with its solicit directly below. Sadly a few titles are on their final issue, so fans will have to say goodbye to great series like Legion of Super-heroes, Demon Knights, Dial H, and Threshold. The 2012 Eisner Awards

The Eisner Awards are a long running comic industry award series that has been held at the San Diego Comic Con International since 1990. The awards are named after the late and great Will Eisner, father of the graphic novel, and took over where the Kirby Awards left off in 1987. These awards are given to some of the greatest comics and creators each year, honoring their significant contribution to the sequential art form. DC Brings Forth New Annuals

Throughout this week DC comics have been dropping details about their upcoming new annuals. It has been a few years since last DC put out any comic annuals, but they don’t seem to have forgotten what makes them great. So far the company has announced 3 separate annuals, each of them coming out in May, oversized, and generally connecting themselves to a larger part of the DC universe.

The Big News Week for DC Comics

DC Comics has dropped quite a few little news tidbits this week, between new video games, annuals, etc. However, not all of it was big enough to deserve its own blog update. So today we have collected a series of new facts, photos, and details of recent DC announcements.
First off, today at ComicsPro in Dallas, TX it was announced that the DC comics Free Comic Book Day issue would feature a 4-page gatefold spread of the Justice League by Jim Lee. This likely to be amazing piece of art will be part of a new story written by Geoff Johns.
