For those who missed out on our live tweeting from San Diego’s Comic Con International all last week, we’ve collected the majority of our updates below. They are posted with the most recent tweets first, and go back to tuesday before the hall opened. As noted in the first tweet, unfortunately we did no live tweeting on Sunday due to an unfortunate loss of the Speak Geeky To Me social networking phone (apparently it really wanted to take a swim in the Marriott pool). Remember to follow the Speak Geeky To Me twitter account for Geek filled tweets, celebrity retweets, live More >

Superman Vs The Elite – Review
Jun 9th
Warner Bros. Animation is back with another direct to DVD (and Blu-Ray) animated superhero film. This time they’re taking on Joe Kelly’s Action Comics #775 story, “What’s so funny about truth, justice, and the American way?“. Entitling the film Superman Vs The Elite, the name for this film rather directly tells you what happened in both comic and adaption. Yes, this is the classic Superman story where Kal-el goes up against The Elite, a super hero team with no qualms against killing. Yet this seems like a very odd choice for DC to adapt into a movie. While it was More >

Filipino Comic Legend, Tony DeZuñiga, Passes Away
May 11th
Today the comic industry faces another great loss as the legendary comic artist, Tony DeZuñiga, passed away. DeZuñiga was a Filipino comic artist that opened the door for many other Filipino’s to break into the American comic industry. Starting his career at DC Comics in 1970, DeZuñiga made an instant splash in drawing the first appearance of popular DC western character, El Diablo, in All Star Western #2. He would continue his early work at DC on titles like All Star Western, House of Mystery, House of Secrets, The Phantom Stranger, and others. Tony, or Mang Tony (as he is More >
Free Digital Comic Book Day
May 7th
Free Comic Book Day was a blast this year, as the great comic holiday is every year. But unfortunately not everyone could get all the free comics they wanted. Some came late to the party, others found their shops just lacking in the title they wanted, a fair amount of you undoubtedly avoided hoarding all the awesome free comics so that they could be given to kids and new readers, and some of you just couldn’t make it all. But don’t fret if you didn’t get all the free comics you wanted, because in this new digital age we have More >
