Nerd Nite at the Pop Culture Fair
Full frontal nerd-ity is at hand at this Edmonton event for comic fans. Nerd Nite offers 20-minute fun yet informative presentations on niche topics from experts and enthusiasts.
Hundreds packed the Alberta Aviation Museum to attend the fair, which is one of the largest of its kind in western Canada. It features vendors from across the region and a wide variety of merchandise, including action figures, trading cards, comics, t-shirts and video games.
Collectible Toys & Comics
As a collector, Shane Turgeon has amassed an impressive collection of action figures, comic books and more over the years. He has even started his own business, specializing in buying and selling comics, toys and other collectibles.
Turgeon was born in the heyday of pop culture, allowing him to grow up immersed in a world of Star Wars, GI Joe and Transformers. He is now a photographer, writer, business owner and appraiser who travels the world in search of rare items.
The Edmonton Collector Con is a one day event held in the spring and fall that specializes in toys, comics, video games and other pop culture memorabilia. The fair attracts vendors from all over Western Canada.
Movies & TV

It’s an all-ages event and there’s even a cosplay costume contest! There are also displays of toys, music and video games. The Fair is a one day pop-up market held every spring and fall. Vendors come from all over Western Canada. Local artists and private collectors are also invited to participate. This gives the novice collector as well as the seasoned enthusiast an opportunity to add to their collections.

Anime and manga fans will love this event for its wide selection of anime, comics, games, toys and more. There are also special events and panels. A popular crafter known for her handmade pop culture wallets will be on hand to create personalized merch.
