Sin City 2 is Officially Happening - The long believed dead project and sequel to Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s comic based film, Sin City, is finally getting under way. With a new press release released from Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company, it has been announced that casting for the movie will begin next week. Brendon Connelly over at Bleeding Cool can’t make much from the press release, still unsure if Rodriguez, Miller, both, or neither is directing. However, the film certainly seems to have a major base around the Miller Sin City classic, A Dame to Kill For. A Dame to Kill For was originally published as a 6-issue comic series from Dark Horse back in 1993. The story follows Dwight McCarthy, who was the protagonist of The Big Fat Kill (featured in the 2005 Sin City film) amongst many other Sin City tales. Being produced by Rodriguez’s Quick Draw Productions, let’s hope this will be better than Frank Miller’s attempt at adapting The Spirit.
Super Video Game Crossover for Nintendo 3DS – So sure, video game crossovers with two different companies are cool. I mean, we all loved Disney and Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts, and we’re likely all playing Streetfighter X Tekken. In it’s time, we also enjoyed Marvel Vs. Capcom, Shonen Jump Allstars, and some people even played Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe. But 2 company crossovers are old, and Nintendo’s 3DS has a game that will shatter that theme with the next best thing: THREE COMPANY CROSSOVER VIDEO GAMES! Yes, Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai Games are all coming together for Project Cross Zone. This simulation RPG for the 3DS was announced in this weeks issue of Shūkan Famitsū, the Japanese video game magazine.
The game is set to have the characters Ryu & Ken Masters from Street Fighter, X & Zero from Megaman (Rockman), Jin Kazama & Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken, Sakura Shinguji & Ichirō Ōgami from Sakura Wars, Kurt Irving & Riela Marcellis from Valkyria Chronicles 3, Ulala from the always enjoyable Space Channel 5, Sanger from Super Robot Wars, Kite and Black Rose from .Hack// and more to be announced later with the eventual release date.
AMC Theives Away Another Kirkman Comic - After the astonishing success of The Walking Dead for AMC, it is not surprising that they would go after another of Robert Kirkman’s comics for a new television series. What is surprising is they didn’t go after the long running and critically acclaimed Invincible, instead going for a newer treat from Kirkman, Thief of Thieves. Thief of Thieves is co-written by Kirkman and Nick Spencer (Ultimate X-men, Morning Glories) and tells the tale of master thief with dual identities. The Hollywood Reporter broke the story of AMC’s bold purchase earlier this week.
How To Speak Dothraki – Ever wonder how HBO brought George RR Martin’s language of the horse people to life? Well CNN brought us a rather lovely video on it you can check out below. There is also a great article on the matter available to those clicking here.
The Devil May Be Stunned at The New DmC Trailer - The new route that Capcom has chosen to take Devil May Cry might seem interesting to some, while down right MTV-like to others in this racy new trailer for the upcoming game. Set in a parallel universe, DmC: Devil May Cry tells the tale of a teenage Dante living in Limbo City. The game has yet to give a release date, but news should be coming shortly.
