The Best April Fooling of 2013
Apr 1st
We at Speak Geeky To Me decided to skip the traditional trickery played out on this fun day here in 2013. Sure, we thought about informing you that Superman: Red Son was being made into DC’s next live action movie or that Angelina Jolie had signed on to play Grace in Aspen MLT’s upcoming Soulfire film. We considered posting about Orson Scott Card being hired at Marvel to write an on-going series involving a gay Hyperion or even mentioning George Lucas’ agreement with Bob Iger to make Star Wars Land in Des Moines, Iowa. But in the end, we just More >
Prepare For Season 3 Of Game Of Thrones
Mar 24th
It has been almost 10 months since season 2 of HBO’s Game of Thrones ended with the dramatic episode, Valar Morghulis. As some of you Song of Ice and Fire fans might be aware, “Valar Morghulis” is High Valyrian for “all men must die”. This old Valyrian phrase is traditionally answered with “Valar Dohaeris,” meaning “all men must serve”. Equally, HBO is responding to the season 2 finale ending of Valar Morghulis with the season 3 premiere episode, entitled Valar Dohaeris. The episode premieres in 1 week, on March 31st at 9PM. It is sure to be a crazy season, More >

A Rap Of Ice And Fire On Game Of Thrones Season 2 DVD & Blu-ray
Jan 8th
Perhaps one of the more amusing moments on the Game of Thrones Season 1 DVD/Blu-ray from HBO was when the Stark kids busted out singing over the opening theme song of the show in the episode 3 commentary. It was incredibly unexpected yet absolutely hilarious. Now as season 2 prepares for DVD/Blu-ray release on February 19th we’ve sadly learned the kids wont be humming through the theme yet again…they’ll be doing something much better! On the Season 2 Episode 3 commentary track, Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) will be beatboxing and rapping More >

As season 3 of Game of Thrones starts casting, it has finally been announced that the supporting role of Mance Rayder has been cast. Mance Rayder should be well known to any fans reading the George RR Martin novels, but even fans who are watching the TV show only have likely heard the name, as it refers to the ‘evil wilding’ that rules north of the wall and plays villain to the brothers of the Nightwatch. So who will portray Rayder in the 3rd season of Game of Thrones? Why it’ll be Irish actor Ciarán Hinds playing Mance Rayder, who some of More >
