25 Years Of Dark Horse Manga
Mar 13th
This month marks 25 years that Dark Horse has been publishing manga. They’ve produced countless great translations from Berserk to Lone Wolf and Cub, Oh My Goddess! to Godzilla. The publisher has worked with countless mangaka, brought over many great works, and produced some incredible supplementary material and OEL manga, like Adam Warren’s versions of Dirty Pair. Now, this March of 2013, they’re celebrating this great accomplishment of 25 years publishing. However nothing I can say will be on par with the way Carl Horn, Dark Horse’s great editor, manga expert, and all around awesome guy, worded things in his press release. More >

But long before Tokyopop, companies like Antarctic Press and Viz were putting out manga created by North American writers and artists. It was a rarer genre of comics, but it did exist. More >

Based around the popular characters of Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump, the group is making an interesting looking theme park in Tokyo, Japan, set to open sometime next year. Now this won’t be a Disneyland or Six Flags level amusement park filled with roller coasters, as cool as that would be, but rather just a building full of shops, character interactions, and likely a few games More >
