If you’re in Southern California this weekend, you might want to make your way to Temecula, in the Inland Empire, for a fun day of Anime at the small, yet quickly grown, Art and Cosplay Expo. This will be the Expo’s second year, after a unexpectedly large turn out for year one that left the show sold out. The now annual event has moved to a larger venue so it can better celebrate everything anime, manga, comics, steampunk, fandoms, table top gaming, and galactic fantasy. But the big draw, aside from participating with like minded Geeks in the Southern California More >
UDON Entertainment has always produced stunning art in both comics and art books. What some fans may not know is they have also produced some rather beautiful holiday cards. We just got our 2013 Holiday Card from UDON yesterday, and it looks gorgeous! The art is by James Ghio, UDON’s newest artist. Ghio was also the artist who did those awesome wrap-around dust jackets for the UDON San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Street Fighter Hardcover earlier this year. While UDON is known for doing some awesome exclusives, especially with Video Game art, they have continuously surprised their work associates with awesome holiday More >
Anime conventions are quite prevalent in the United States, and around the world, these days, with tons of fans flood exhibit floors almost every weekend at some venue or another. But the big difference between anime and comic or Sci-Fi conventions is that it is rare to see an original Japanese creator attend an anime con. While many such shows will have a few American dub voice actors, and on rare occasion see a few Japanese bands, voice actors, or anime directors, you just don’t see the manga creators coming out for a signing or panel very often. When these More >
For all Geeks looking for a post con season return to anime, comic, and cosplay fun that live around California’s Riverside County, might I suggest swinging by today’s Art, Anime, Comics, & Cosplay Expo? The small convention runs for just several hours mid-day today, but offers various forms of Geeky fun, including a cosplay masquerade I will be judging. The warm weather of summer is still striking Southern California, so cool off for a day at a fun show that also helps support several great non-profit organizations!
Location: Murrieta Community Center, Murrieta, CA

While on the floor of this year’s Anime Expo, model and actress Brenna Rhea got fitted for a brand new and very anime themed wig. The cotton candy colored wig was available at Fanciful Gifts and is sure to make anyone fit in to the cosplay heavy exhibit floor of California’s largest anime convention. Check out the process of putting on this fanciful wig and how quickly it changes Brenna’s look to blend in with the crowds in the video down below.

Anime Expo was back on top this year, as the convention was perhaps the best it had been in years. Filled with amazing cosplayers, big exhibitors, a stunning artist alley, a very large video game room, panels, and much much more. Thankfully, we had actress and model, Brenna Rhea, on hand to help show everyone around. Check out the video below to get a peek inside the convention and meet some of the cosplayers, exhibitors, and artists that filled the Los Angeles based anime convention’s vast halls earlier this month.
Anime Vegas is coming up on its 10th year as a convention in the Nevada oasis that is Las Vegas. The only problem is, while there will be an Anime Vegas 10, no one knows what days it will be held on or where it will be located. Due to some problems in negotiating the originally intended venue for the tenth annual Anime Vegas, the convention is temporarily without a home or set weekend. On the convention’s Facebook, the Anime Vegas staff officially made this comment:
We here at Anime Vegas would like to thank all of you – our friends, More >

It’s Fourth of July weekend out here in sunny California, so first of all let us wish all our American readers a happy Independence Day for tomorrow. But what else does that fabulous holiday bring to the States? Why Anime Expo of course. This year the convention starts on July 4th and runs through Sunday, July 7th. The weather looks like it will be clearing up for a warm weekend out in LA, so make sure you’re ready for the heat, awesome cosplay, and some great anime & manga con time! We’ll be there covering the event and taking photos, More >

It’s almost summer and convention season is in full force! Fanime is unfortunately behind us, but don’t fret. Up next, we have Animegacon, a fresh new convention in Las Vegas taking place from June 14 to June 16. Though only in its second year, it’s sure to be a blast (even better if you’re 21+!). Then we have California’s biggest anime convention, Anime Expo, which will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 4 to July 7. With all of the amazing guests of honor and great vendors, there’s no doubt that it will be a great time.

Yesterday’s lines for Fanime’s pre-registered ticket pick up were absurd out here in San Jose. Things weren’t nearly as bad as last week’s Motor City Comic Con in Detroit, but fans still were waiting for hours to pick up the badges they paid in advance for, hoping to jump line of on-site registering attendees. The lines outside the Fairemont Hotel wrapped back and forth so tightly and for so long, it almost felt hopeless for those stuck waiting, but determined to have their badges immediately for today’s show. Thankfully this is a kind community, filled with aesthetically wonderful cosplayers and More >
