Just a few short hours before today’s big DC Retailer Roadshow (the first of several) in Burbank, CA, DC has dropped the bombshell of June’s post-Convergence plans. What are they? Well, they involve 24 brand new comic series, a dropping of the New 52 branding, and some major creative team shake ups. This is certainly some interesting and, in a few cases, unexpected twists to the stories currently unfolding at DC. Based on several Batman storylines of the New 52 era of comics, the Batman Vs Robin animated film from DC and Warner Bros Animation looks to play perfectly as a sequel to the Son of Batman direct-to-video animated film. Batgirl #35 - A Huge 10-Page Unedited Preview!

Earlier this week, comic retailers were sent an 11-page preview of the upcoming Batgirl #35. Why were they sent so many pages so far in advance? Because DC Comics is shaking up the Batgirl series pretty heavily with this new issues and they want retailers to see what is coming so they order big. The new storyline also features a new creative team, as Gail Simone makes way for Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart, and artist Babs Tarr (wonderfully named artist for Batgirl, right?). Director Zack Snyder has apparently been in a very favorable mood this past week, with teasing tweets for his upcoming film, Superman/Batman. This epic sequel to Man of Steel has had much buzz around it since its first announcement at San Diego Comic Con last year, and has driven the internet crazy after casting announcements that included Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It has been over 10 years since I was last excited about a live action DC Move/TV series. That would be Smallville, a show that looked to have much promise.
