Frank Miller is back on Batman for a brand new piece in his Dark Knight series at DC Comics, Dark Knight III: The Master Race. Having already written stories like Batman Year One and All Star Batman and Robin that Miller considers officially cannon parts of his Dark Knight epic, this new piece could be the trilogy end cap for the officially titled Dark Knight comics. Why? Well, considering how many Frank Miller fans out there are still waiting for more Sin City that was promised to them or the prequel to 300, Xerxes, that was even previewed in Dark More >
Yesterday night was the DC Retailer Roadshow in Burbank, CA, the future home of DC Comics starting this May. The event is a semi-regular gathering of comic Retailers with the head of Sales, Publishing, and a few other admin/creative types from DC Comics to discuss upcoming events, sales tactics, incentives, and generally share ideas with one another. Great things like the popular Harley Quinn on-going that is currently being published by DC have spun out of these meetings, as well as some great and extraordinarily rare exclusive variant covers offered only to participants. This month has seen DC Comics talked about quite a bit, particularly in the realm of controversy. While I personally believe many of DC’s choices of late need to be discussed and evaluated, two these stories have truly grown to epic proportions that likely spawn from misunderstanding. Recently, J.H. Williams III and Haden Blackman have walked off their comic series, Batwoman, because of DC editorial decisions that have left them both rather frustrated. Specifically, the two men left because DC would not allow the series’ main character, Kate Kane, to get married to her fiancee, Maggie Sawyer. This was certainly More >
This weekend SG2M is heading out to the City of Sin for 3 days of Comics, Games, Cosplay, and more at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con. This will be the first year for this convention, but it comes from the experienced mind of organizer Jimmy Jay, who has previously brought you Amazing Arizona Comic Con, which we spoke to him about earlier this year, and Image Comic Expo. The guest list for the convention looks astounding and the location doesn’t get much better, as Vegas is a town known not only for throwing big events, but plays home to some More >
DC has some final issues set to come out this August along with some special one-shots. Continuing DC’s big summer event of the Trinity War, there is a Trinity War Directors Cut special which features Geoff John’s script and Ivan Reis’ penciles. You can also look forward to the huge Batman Inc Special with its solicit directly below. Sadly a few titles are on their final issue, so fans will have to say goodbye to great series like Legion of Super-heroes, Demon Knights, Dial H, and Threshold. Hopefully this means there will be some awesome new titles in September, but More >
The always amazing comic con of Arizona, better known as Amazing Arizona Comic Con, starts its third year later this week, running from Friday January 25th through Sunday the 27th. We managed to catch up with the convention’s co-owner and organizer, Jimmy Jay, while he was enroute to Phoenix for this weekend’s festivities. The convention itself is run by Jay Company Comics, a family-run comic company founded by brothers Jimmy and Bill Jay back in 1996. Jay Company started out as a retail comic business, but has expanded into so much more, with the company playing publishing consultant, publisher (with More >
