General Zod Injustice’s Newest Playable Character with…The Flaming C?!?
Jun 13th
Last night on TBS’ Conan talk show, starring Conan O’Brien, they aired a recurring feature called Conan’s “Clueless Gamer” Reviews. The theme of these reviews is that Conan, a not so talented or knowledgeable video gamer, is shown some of the hottest and newest video games while giving his humorous commentary. Last night the feature focused on popular DC fighting game, Injustice. First off, we must give credit to the show and Aaron Blair for showing off the Injustice comic book, which Conan has some funny things to say about. But on this feature we found our first official confirmation More >
The Trailer For 300: Rise of An Empire Is Now Live
Jun 12th
As we promised yesterday, here is the trailer for the sequel to 300, 300: Rise of an Empire. The film, set for release next year, stars Sullivan Stapleton, Lena Headey, Eva Green, and Rodrigo Santoro, with Zack Snyder producing and co-writing the screenplay while the Israeli director behind Smart People, Noam Murro, directs. The new film certainly has the look and feel of 300 down, yet somehow on a more epic scale. If you pay attention to the trailer, there is even the forward thrust kick that we saw Leonidas use on Persian envoys in the first film. Perhaps this More >
300: Rise of An Empire Movie Poster
Jun 11th
Fans of the most bloody and comic based representation of Spartans have been waiting for this moment almost 6 years now, since Director Zack Snyder brought Frank Miller’s classic Dark Horse comic, 300, to life as a live action film. The film version of 300 brought the comic story a new success, as the film grossed over 450 million dollars and turned the director into an A-list hollywood celeb. The film’s style saw more parody than the Matrix, and men and women both swooned over the scantily clad Greek warriors portrayed by actors like Gerard Butler and powerful women like More >
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Gets An Official Teaser Trailer
Jun 11th
You’ve all waited rather patiently since An Unexpected Journey hit theaters last December, but this journey is more expected and its trailer long awaited. Yes, The Hobbit is back for the second film in the trilogy, and Peter Jackson has for us a rather impressive trailer freshly released today! In it you’ll find a surprisingly amount of Legolas, almost as if he was actually in the book itself, but there are quite a few cannon bits in the amazing new footage shown below. Oh, and let’s not forget…Smaug. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters December 13th, 2013. Check out the More >
E3 ’13: Nintendo Direct Press Conference
Jun 11th
This year Nintendo is forgoing the traditional onsite press conference that video game companies normally do each year at E3, as they attempt something more direct. This year, Nintendo is providing a prerecorded video showing off the company’s various news pieces and upcoming games. While the idea is that this tactic goes directly to the fans, rather than members of the press, thanks to streaming press conferences that most of the major companies now do at E3, you ultimately aren’t seeing anything truly different if you’re sitting at home following the events of E3. It does, however, mean a lot More >
E3 ’13: Sharing Games On The PS4
Jun 10th
So today Sony revealed their Playstation 4 and got quite a few jabs in at the competitor, Microsoft, and their recent announcements relating to the upcoming XboxOne. President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, Jack Tretton, got a few great lines in, saying: “PS4 won’t impose any new restrictions on your use of PS4 game discs.”, “PS4 disc-based games don’t need to be connected online to play”, and “If you enjoy single-player games offline, PS4 won’t require you to “check in” online periodically.” But ultimately, the best joke came from a video uploaded to youtube by Sony employees Shuhei More >
Star Wars finds a home on Disney XD!!
May 22nd
Lucasfilm announced yesterday that production has begun on the next Star Wars animated series, titled Star Wars Rebels, and will be set between Episodes III and IV. In the 19 years between the events of these films we know that the Empire continued its meteoric rise, Vader began hunting down the remaining Jedi that had escaped Order 66, and a small group of idealists would give birth to the Rebel Alliance. Given the title of this new series, I think it is safe to say that it will focus on the birth of the Alliance and the fight and struggle More >
Xbox One Revealed
May 20th
Yesterday we had a teaser that told us when we could expect the PS4′s reveal. Today we actually got a reveal of Microsoft’s newest console, the Xbox One. Long spoken of as the Xbox720 (360×2), the title, visual, and select specs have finally been confirmed. But while we now have visuals of what many fans are calling the next gen VCR and know what some of the hardware is, the only real confirmation of games have been Call of Duty and the traditional EA sports games (so nothing you wouldn’t expect released annually). The bigger focus on today’s press announcement More >
Batman: Arkham Origins Official Trailer
May 20th
Batman’s Arkham Origins trailer is finally here, as promised back on Thursday. The trailer reminds me of one we got a few years back, featuring Batman fighting off Tyger Guards and Doctor strange. This one, however, has Batman, Deathstroke, Deadshot, and Black Mask all appearing as rather amazingly badass. The game releases October 25th of this year and apparently offers Deathstroke as a playable character if you pre-order now. Even though the developer has switched from Rocksteady to Warner Bros. Games Montreal, and we will no longer have classic voice actors Kevin Conroy as Batman or Mark Hamil as Joker, More >
