Avatar: Legend of Korra Episode 3 - The Revelation

So with this post we wrap up our unofficial Avatar week here at Speak Geeky To Me. The series looks great so far, and I’m sure there is more fun on the way. However, just because we won’t be posting Avatar updates every day from now on, doesn’t mean we wont still be here to keep you up to date on all things Avatar. Marvel’s C2E2 Announcements

C2E2 has hit full swing by now, as it enters its final day. Hoping that many of you can make it out to Chicago’s fabulous comic convention, we’ll make this recap of Marvel convention announcements brief. Starting with some rather joyful art news, Khoi Pham (Mighty Avengers, X-men Legacy) will be taking over art duties from Ryan Stegman on Scarlet Spider, starting this July with issue #7.

Dark Horse Leading the C2E2 Announcement Race

Not that there is really a race when it comes to announcing new series at comic conventions, but if there was than Dark Horse would be leading the pack with a healthy distance. After the impressive number of announcements 2 weeks ago at Emerald City Comic Con, you’d think there was nothing left for Dark Horse to talk about at C2E2. It’s not long now until we are all firmly places in front of our television screens enjoying the first 2 episodes of Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Some of us have already seen these episodes, having had them leak over a month ago with links available on this site. For others, this will be the first magnificent time you see the new avatar in action. The Cover to Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Promise Part 3

As we all know, tomorrow begins the premiere of Avatar: The Legend of Korra on Nickelodeon. To celebrate this, we are bringing you the cover to Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Promise Part 3, due out this September from Dark Horse. The Promise, as you can read about in our posts here and here, helps bridge the gap between Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Zombicide, A New Way To Kill The Undead

Even though no one has been infected yet, there are still hordes of zombies. TV, movies, video games, RPGs, and today I have a new board game including these undead brain-eaters, Zombicide. Developed by a new company, Guillotine Games, and published by CoolMiniOrNot. Zombicide says it will force you to find the balance between hunting down zombies to kill and surviving the horror of the zombies coming after you. Most of my friends and I enjoy killing zombies, and a game that lets you do that, while claiming to marry humor and gloom, deserves at least a chance.

DC Direct Now DC Collectibles

In the past year DC Comics has proven one thing to fans: They think they’re old things weren’t good enough and that re-branding will make everything better. So, in yet another example that succeeds ‘The New 52′ and ‘Before Watchmen’, DC presents their newly re-branded collectible subsidiary, DC Collectibles. It’s a bit on the nose title wise, isn’t it? Well, perhaps DC executives were afraid that was affecting sales. At either rate, the new brand gets a new logo very much matching DC Comics’ new logo.
