GAMA Trade Show ’13: Wyrd Miniatures
Apr 6th
Wyrd Miniatures started off with the world of Malifaux, a world connected to ours but with a resource that powers magic. It began with the skirmish game of Malifaux where factions fought over soul stones that were extremely valuable Earthside. Wyrd Miniatures is expanding on their current game by continuing to add more models and even adding new factions. They have also switched over to a plastic line of models which should help with price but also make working with them easier for new players too.
The world of Malifaux is also getting more thought out, with the development of an RPG. More >

Feb 26th
Vegas is starting to become a more popular place for conventions it seems. Last weekend there was a first time convention for gaming. Being in Vegas I know that can be confusing. It not gambling but actual video games, tabletop games, card games, and more. This is the second geek-themed convention in 6 months to attempt to start a new annual convention in Vegas. To top it off there will be another one coming in June this summer. Here is what went on this past weekend though.

Camelot Unchained
Feb 16th
If you were part of the MMO community about 10 years ago, you might remember a game that I personally think had the best PvP (technically Realm vs Realm) system built into online gaming, Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC). Realm vs Realm play differed from PvP in that the players’ base was divided over multiple realms that fight each other for game assets. This differs from traditional PvP combat systems in that RvR usually depicts a game that is centralized around this combat, as opposed to a game where sporadic player versus player combat occurs. Since DAoC there have been More >
Zombicide Season 2: Prison Outbreak and Toxic City Expansion
Feb 9th
Guillotine Games has been revealing spoilers for their new expansion coming out for Zombicide on their facebook page. But if you managed to get the game through KickStarter last year, or have fulfilled your duty as a gamer and made sure to pick it up in stores, I see no reason why everyone won’t be jumping with excitement about information released for spoiler #10. Tabletop Gaming New did an interview about the future of the game, and Wow, does it look grim.
Guillotine Games has taken the future of Zombicide a step past just releasing an expansion and is releasing a new More >
Labyrinth of Ruin: A Descent Explansion
Feb 7th
Fantasy Flight put plenty of time into making Descent: Journeys in the Dark a more simple, streamlined game back in July of last year. Descent is a dungeon delve board game where up to four players go against one person playing as the overlord. There are quests or a campaign that come with the base set, full of stories and planned reactions depending on if the players succeed or fail. The board is made up of modular pieces, making each time through the story slightly different than the time before. There are four archetypes to choose from in the base game, with More >
Speak Geeky To Me Goes To CES: A Unique Look At Some Unique Items
Jan 22nd
CES, otherwise known as the Consumer Electronics Show, is one of most publicized nerd conventions out there. Held in Las Vegas each January, this international trade show focuses on major technology-related innovations and brands. Definitely not an easy convention to get into, as I more than know, having wanted to go for quite a while. Even then the show has some of the worst times for attendance if you work normal office hours, which most people do if you are in that industry. Best part about it though, it is still in Vegas for as long as I have known More >
