This weekend is Arizona’s 10th annual Phoenix Comicon (held this May 24th-27th). Taking place at the Phoenix Convention Center Hyatt Regency, the show will be packed full of comic creators and celebrity guests, including our very own Mike McKone (who had a brand new Confluence in a Sea of Geek come out today). Major guests of the show include:

  • Brent Spiner
  • Michael Dorn
  • Marina Sirtis
  • Dina Meyer
  • Wil Wheaton
  • Levar Burton
  • Casper Van Dien
  • Lou Ferrigno
  • Dina Meyer
  • Colin Ferguson
  • Jon Bernfal
  • William Shatner
  • Jamie Bamber
  • Phil Lamar
  • Erin Gray
  • Garth Ennis
  • David Finch
  • P.C. Cast
  • Ethan Van Sciver
  • Raven Gregory
  • Khoi Pham
  • Francis Manapul
  • Whilce Portacio
  • Billy Tucci
  • Stuart Immonen
  • Brian Pulido
  • and many more

There will be many exhibitors, including comic companies Aspen MLT, Big Dog Ink, Avatar Press, and the creators of Cyanide & Happiness. But the big draw is the countless sexy exclusives, from prints to variant comic covers, featuring men and women that are wearing clothes to match the hot weather of Arizona. There literally are too many to share, but check them all out here (and watch your drool). I will, however, make a special exception to show off the incredible Lady Mechanika #2 Outlaw Exclusive Edition that Aspen will be offering, and the odd Fathom: Phoenix Comicon print, that shows Aspen Matthews surfing (something you can’t do in Arizona) in a cute little PCC one piece.

And don’t forget to pick up the Unity Project ashcan (especially its sexy limited edition cosplay B cover), if you are there, in support of Hero Initiative. It’s an all female produced comic and supports a great cause.

If you can’t make it out to FanimeCon in San Jose, CA, or you are more of a comic book fan, then this is the best way to spend your weekend. For more information on the Phoenix Comicon check out www.phoenixcomicon.com. And if you do make it out that way, make sure to say hi to Mike McKone and tell him how awesome his new Confluence in a Sea of Geek piece was!
