Dark Horse has had its fair share of high selling comics throughout its history, with many of them recently seeing re-release as Hardcover Library Editions. These hardcover library editions tend to be deluxe oversized hardcovers with extra material and limited release, making them highly sought after collections of very popular comic series and storylines. Previously Dark Horse has released these hardcovers for Hellboy, Sin City, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Now, the incredibly popular and high selling Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Promise series is getting this treatment. Set for release in February of 2013, little is currently known about the size and extra features that will fill this hardcover editions pages. It will, undoubtedly, collect all 3 volumes of the series in one binding though. Oh, and it has an interesting new cover, as seen below:

If you haven’t already picked up The Promise, this might be the edition worth waiting for. Volume 3 of the series, which wraps up The Promise, will be released on the 26th of this month. But as nice as 3 trades look on one’s shelf, I’ve always thought these fine Dark Horse hardcovers look and read a whole lot better.
