DC Entertainment is coming to WonderCon this year in a big way, as this is right before the comic publisher rolls forward with their new relaunch of #1 comics they’re titling DC: REBIRTH! Knowing this, it’s obvious to understand why the publisher, whose offices are right in WonderCon’s backyard, is bringing a full crew of creators, exclusives, and news via some big panels! One of the panels is even so big it starts before the convention opens on Saturday and will be streamed live for anyone to watch around the world! But just who are the creators coming to WonderCon More >
WonderCon has moved yet again, but it’s guaranteed to have the fans move with it this year while bringing in a large number more thanks to the new location of Los Angeles! Home of the stars, movie studios, and several comic publishers, expect this show to have a fair number of Geeky celebrities present. If you can, you need to get tickets fast, and prep your travel plans because downtown LA is not always an easy place to get to, stay at, or find parking. But if you do make it? There will be a lot of fun things to More >
Just a few short hours before today’s big DC Retailer Roadshow (the first of several) in Burbank, CA, DC has dropped the bombshell of June’s post-Convergence plans. What are they? Well, they involve 24 brand new comic series, a dropping of the New 52 branding, and some major creative team shake ups. This is certainly some interesting and, in a few cases, unexpected twists to the stories currently unfolding at DC. Not all currently sound super exciting, but many seem like they’re the right direction for the company. Below we have a list of all 49 of DC’s upcoming series More >
It’s just one month until Geoff Johns final issue of Superman, as the creator once more readies to walk away from the near omnipotent Kryptonian he’s written so well. This time, however, he leaves us with a few parting words right after the penultimate issue that has left Superman with a new power! Read his thoughts below and see if you can catch some of the more interesting tidbits hidden throughout:
Superman #38 came out yesterday and JR and I wanted to say thank you, because the issue sold out!
I have to admit, it’s a little bittersweet, because not only is More >
It seems Warner Bros has finally learned its lesson about keeping it all in house, with DC properties seeing new TV shows at NBC in the way of Constantine and Fox for Gotham. But now CBS is getting in on the superhero fun with another DC property going to TV in the form of Supergirl. Yes, that’s right, everyone’s favorite female Kryptonian is getting an hour long episodic series on CBS somewhere in the future. Right now the show is still in the very early stages of development, but we do know it is being put together by Greg Berlanti and Ali More >
The pilot episode of The Flash has leaked online, well before its intended release date of October 7th this year. Because of this, well I’m not the type to jump on a full review over such, I’d like to point out some of the hopeful bits that might entice you a bit towards checking out this new series when it premieres on CW this Fall. And if CW is smart, they’ll put the full pilot on their website in advance of the show, to prevent promotion of pirating. Of course that’s just my thought on the matter, but here are a More >
Right on the heels of this weekend’s spectacular Walking Dead Season Finale, Image Comics and DC Comics announced a major company crossover, Batman and The Walking Dead! In the vein of Marvel’s Invincible/Spider-man crossover in Marvel Team-Up #14, Robert Kirkman will be writing a major crossover mini-series wherein Batman must go up against zombies in Gotham City. We first saw a hint of this with the above teaser at this weekend’s Emerald City Comic Con, but editors and creators on panel kept their lips tight (albeit smiling) about what it meant. Now we know and I don’t think fans could More >
DC’s new Earth One series of original graphic novels have been a successful surprise in reviving classic DC comic characters in a more modern style by top tier comic creators. So far they have released Superman: Earth One by J. Michael Staczynski (Thor, Superman) and Shane Davis, and Batman: Earth One by Geoff Johns (Justice League, Aquaman) and Gary Frank (Action Comics, Justice League). With Wonder Woman: Earth One on the way from Grant Morrison (Final Crisis, Batman & Robin) and Yanick Paquette (Swamp Thing, Ultimate X-Men), now titled Wonder Woman: The Trial of Diana Prince, fans have been quite More >
Yes, you read that headline right, John Romita Jr will be taking over as artist on Superman this summer! John Romita Jr. has always been one of those legendary creators affiliated almost purely with Marvel, where his father even once worked on Spider-Man for some of the character’s greatest moments. Therefore, it comes as quite the shock to many to see him doing his first DC work ever later this year. But if you’re going to bring John Romita Jr. over to DC Comics, the iconic character of Superman is the way to go (and not just because he has More >
