Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a strange entry to the Planet of the Apes saga. It doesn’t fit anywhere in the 60s-70s version of the series (and I’m told) doesn’t follow up the Planet of the Apes remake (2001). I’ve read that it’s possibly a prequel to the original Planet of the Apes (1968), but it appears to be more of a reboot than anything else. I suppose, given a Rise 2, it could be merged into the original storyline somewhere before Taylor’s rocket crashes on a barren, mysterious world, but then he’d probably been expecting apes, unless of course he left prior to the events in this film. Yeah, let’s just call it a reboot.
Harry Potter: A Decade In Reflection

In 2001 I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in theaters. It was enjoyable, but I can’t say I was taken with it. It was fun and it was cute, but I certainly wouldn’t have guessed walking out during the final credits that I had just been introduced to one of my favorite movie series. I’ve watched the movie several times since it’s release and it’s grown on me, but it wasn’t until the release of Chamber of Secrets that I really got into the movies and waited for each new installment with great anticipation.

The-Artist-Formerly-Known-As-The-Governator
Just yesterday several online news sources reported that the artist formerly known as the Governator, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, may finally be attached to his first post-office, acting job. Sources say he’ll likely be starring in Jee-Woon Kim’s Last Stand. The film is supposed to be a cross between High Noon and Die Hard, following Schwarzeneggar’s sheriff tracking an escaped drug cartel kingpin attempting to make his way south to the border.
