There are only 8-days left to donate to Beth Sotelo’s awesome GRUMP! The loneliest kid on your block… until now campaign, currently crowd funding on kickstarter. We’ve already talked about the campaign and comic a fair bit in an earlier article, but we wanted to now share with you a short little video interview done with Beth at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Done briefly at her artist alley table, just north of Hall H in the San Diego Convention Center this past July, Beth talks a bit about Grump and how she’s turning him into a comic.

Grump is a long talked about project from comic colorist Beth Sotelo that is finally being made a reality. Sotelo is one of the industry’s top colorists, having worked at Top Cow, DC, Marvel, and Aspen MLT, she mentored under Peter Steigerwald and worked with greats like Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee, and Michael Turner. Currently she is the colorist on the All New Fathom and Shrugged series from Aspen MLT. At this year’s San Diego Comic Con she debuted the Kickstarter for her new comic series, Grump, done entirely by her.

Another month in 2013 and another amazing Aspen 10th anniversary title is set to hit stores in just a few days. The newest title from Aspen, set for release in the month of May, is Charismagic volume 2. Volume 1 of Charismagic was quite the epic journey, and in the time since we’ve learned a little more about the Charismagic world in a prequel series called Charismagic: The Death Princess. But now we’re back to present day and picking up right where volume 1 left off. Magician Hank Medley thought he had everything figured out. After saving the world from an ancient, More >
Celebrating Aspen MLT’s 10th year as a publisher and the 15th anniversary of Michael Turner’s Fathom, Aspen held a great panel at this year’s WonderCon in Anaheim, California. This may not have been Aspen’s first convention of the year, with appearances at Amazing Arizona, Emerald City Comicon, and MegaCon, but this was the first convention in which Aspen MLT held a panel. There they collected some of their greatest writers and artists, along with the men that do all the great behind the scenes work, to announce a few new projects and discuss their many great releases and plans for More >

While at this year’s WonderCon we had the pleasure of hearing a rather incredible story about a man, taken in his prime, that was full of creativity and some incredible people trying to make his final wish come true. Jason Coffee was a young writer and creator who had been serving his time in Hollywood, working up the creative ladder. Having worked as an assistant on many Sci-Fi TV series, like Babylon 5 and Roswell, Jason evaluated scripts for the likes of James Cameron and even wrote an episode of the documentary series, The Universe. Unfortunately, despite Jason’s great creative talent More >
