Cryptozoic and DC Comics are partnering to bring an amazing amount of DC heroes to you in the form of two card sets. With the first set of DC Comics trading cards to come out in three years and another deck building game coming from Cryptozoic, I’m sure this summer will be filled with some exciting new art and lots of fun game play.

The trading cards will be brand new art done just for this set of cards. It looks like it will have 52 full color trading cards with rarer sketch cards done by some of the leading artists being mixed into the packs also. There will be a 1:24 pack ratio for finding these special gems that will make a great addition to any collector’s set.

Cryptozoic is also giving fans a chance to play as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Cyborg in their new DC Comics Deck-building Game. They have released a little bit of information about the game but seem to want to save some of the details for their first demonstration that will be held at the Cryptozoic Comic-Con store at 411 Market Street during San Diego Comic-Con.

The game will come with 214 cards to build your deck along with 7 oversized Super Hero cards, one for each hero listed above. The game will start out simple enough with 2-5 players each starting out with 10-card decks. Each turn you will draw 5 cards and use power as your currency to buy new and stronger cards for your deck. There will always be 5 cards for you to choose from containing Villains, Heroes, Equipment, Super Powers and Locations. As you gain power throughout the game, you will have the option to go after Super-Villains. After each Super-Villain is defeated, a new one will show up and make an attack on each player unless they have planned for this event and have bought Defense cards like The Batsuit, Super Speed, Bulletproof or many others they have added to the game.

This game looks like it will be a lot of fun with the promise of card combos, strategies, and different special abilities for each of the Super Heroes to make each game played unique and fun along with some awesome art I’m sure.
