Alan Moore at Comic Con – While the great comic wizard of North Hampton might not actually be making any physical appearances at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, he will be debuting some new work at the show. Yes, part two of Moore’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century will be made available for the first time ever at SDCC ’11. This volume will be centered on The League of 1969 and you can pick up your copy of the short skirt, summer of love style LoEG at the Top Shelf booth (#1721) July 21-24.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pokemon just got real – Or at least they got a little more 3-dimensional with the upcoming Super Pokemon Scramble coming out for the 3DS in Japan this month. Check out the Japanese trailer below.

Gamble at Wayne Casinos – Those of you following DC Comics’ Flashpoint event will likely be familiar with Batman’s series of gambling and adult entertainment establishments. Though you might not be able to step into the comic-verse and get punched by Thomas Wayne himself for trying to pull a fast one at the poker tables, you might still have a chance to get the Wayne Casino experience. At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, DC will be giving away Wayne Casino poker chips each day of the convention. For your chance to collect all 6 chips you’ll need to visit the DC booth each day of the convention and try your luck at a few DC panels. Here is the run down:

$1 Chips (White) – Wednesday, July 20th
$5 Chips (Red) – Thursday, July 21st
$10 Chips (Blue) – Friday, July 22nd
$25 Chips (Green) – Saturday, July 23rd
$50 Chips (Orange) – Sunday, July 24th
$100 Chips (Black) – These will be given away at DC panels throughout the convention to attendees who ask the best questions!

 

 

Are The Mighty stronger than The Worthy? – Marvel has released its new spoiler poster related to the big Fear Itself event. We’ve already seen The Worthy, a group of heroes and villains possessed by the evil Serpent and his power instilling hammers. Now the question is who are The Mighty? We can take a guess from the silhouette that they might be (from left to right): Ms Marvel, Iron Fist, Dr. Strange, Iron Man, Valkyrie (?), Wolverine, Mockingbird (?), Hawkeye, and Spider-man. Now is it just me, or did these heroes steal their costumes from Tron? Disney influence at its finest!

 

Teasers for the Dark Knight Rises Teaser – Waiting for any new on the next Batman movie from Christopher Nolan? Well you may not have your trailer yet, but word from Super Hero Hype is that it is coming soon! How soon? According to SHH, you’ll get your first glimpse in a teaser before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, opening next week, on July 15th!
