Zombicide Season 2: Prison Outbreak and Toxic City Expansion
Guillotine Games has been revealing spoilers for their new expansion coming out for Zombicide on their facebook page. But if you managed to get the game through KickStarter last year, or have fulfilled your duty as a gamer and made sure to pick it up in stores, I see no reason why everyone won’t be jumping with excitement about information released for spoiler #10. Tabletop Gaming New did an interview about the future of the game, and Wow, does it look grim.
Guillotine Games has taken the future of Zombicide a step past just releasing an expansion and is releasing a new standalone game/expansion on top of the one they have been planning since the original KickStarter. Their expansion will be called Toxic City. It will include mall tiles that are suppose to throw a twist into the current line of sight we are use to, four new survivors, zombivor versions of the four new characters and the six original ones, new skills and items, new rules for barricading objects, toxic zombies and ultrared mode for those games that take you beyond just getting to the red zone on your character card. There have been nine spoilers posted on their facebook so far that has gone over some of the rules for toxic zombies, zombie dogs, previews of some of the new tiles being added and even some of the figures being added.
Zombicide Season 2: Prison Outbreak, the second standalone version, will break away from the outdoor environment of the original Zombicide, or Season 1, and the mixed indoor/outdoor mall setup from Toxic City. This game will have characters dealing with zombies in a closed space, needing to use different weapons to be effective and add another variation of zombies: Berserker Zombie. All that I have found released about this variation is that they will be immune to ranged attacks. This season is meant to resemble a modern day dungeon. Small hallways, locked doors, switches to open different areas and of course a swarm of zombies hungry for your brains.
There seems to be hints at more season and expansions to come following these two. Keep an eye open for the new KickStarter to get on its way. This game is one gamers of all experience can play, so why not be one of the first to receive it when it comes out, especially if you can pick up a couple of promo figures along with it. Information should be plentiful in the time leading up to their next KickStarter, which I have only come across seeing a time frame of soon.
