Marcus Johnson and Cheese, two names you’re sure to run into in tomorrow’s Secret Avengers #1. So who exactly are these two characters? Why are they so important? And why are they leading the charge in this week’s Secret Avengers #1? Well to answer that question we need to rewind back to the “Shattered Heroes” aftermath of Fear Itself, Marvel’s big 2011 summer event, or more specifically the 6-issue limited series Battle Scars, written by Chris Yost, which ran from November 2011 to April 2012.
So why write an article about a title that ended almost a year ago? Why discuss More >
Whether it was at Marvel, Homage, Top Cow, or even Zenescope, Keu Cha has drawn some of the sexiest women and most demonic beasts in comics. Starting out on the series Darkchylde back in 1996, Cha has been drawing comics for over 15 years with some great works in titles like Witchblade, The Darkness, Rising Stars, and more. But his newest series is perhaps his biggest work yet. A creator-owned, self published, independent comic book series of epic proportions. Set in a dying kingdom, on the brink of destruction by an army of deathless warriors, the fate of the people More >
It is becoming almost common place these days to see a sexy cover solicited for an upcoming comic only to find the issues actual cover being a little more censored in the comic shop. People often complain until the publisher chooses to edit the picture, covering up naughty bits, making images less violent, or heroines less shapely. So it is quite the surprise when we see the dead opposite happen over at Dark Horse. Back in November of 2012 we saw the final issue of Tim Seeley’s Ex Sanguine series feature a very racy cover of Ashley straddling Saul Adams More >

Late last year 2 groups sprung almost out of thin air, producing rare and beautifully designed comic variants of indie Image titles for select comic shops around the US. Both groups had rather ghoulish names, the first being called Ghost Variants, with the other being referred to as Phantom Variants. Some discussion arouse about the two groups as winter of 2012 set in, but it mainly stayed in circles of hardcore variant collectors. Artist Skottie Young, however, has recently drawn many casual comic fans into collecting variants with his cute Marvel Now baby variants that are beloved by many and drawing More >
For many of you Aspen fans who have been keeping up with the publisher’s 10th anniversary plans, via their 10 for 10 initiative, I’m sure you’ve noticed how they have listed 2 brand new titles for release in August of this year, Awaken Skies and Overtaken. However, the guys at Aspen have no intention of releasing 2 titles in a single month for their 10 for 10, otherwise it would be more of an 11 for 10. So, much like the Highlander, there can be only one! But how does a publisher like Aspen choose which series gets released and More >
