25 Years Of Dark Horse Manga
Mar 13th
This month marks 25 years that Dark Horse has been publishing manga. They’ve produced countless great translations from Berserk to Lone Wolf and Cub, Oh My Goddess! to Godzilla. The publisher has worked with countless mangaka, brought over many great works, and produced some incredible supplementary material and OEL manga, like Adam Warren’s versions of Dirty Pair. Now, this March of 2013, they’re celebrating this great accomplishment of 25 years publishing. However nothing I can say will be on par with the way Carl Horn, Dark Horse’s great editor, manga expert, and all around awesome guy, worded things in his press release. More >
Tomorrow Is C-Day 2 - The Crossed Will Return
Mar 12th
Last year was the first annual C-Day, the day that celebrates Garth Ennis’ sick and twisted zombie-like comic, Crossed, from Avatar Press. To celebrate, comic shops around the world held Crossed parties filled with cosplay, comics, and even cupcakes! Avatar provided survival kits to select shops that included pins, masks (to hide your face from the Crossed), and more. It was great fun for many involved, as we showed in last years coverage of the event. The big hit of last year’s C-Day was the premier of two new Crossed series, the on-going Crossed: Badlands and the free web-series known More >
Marvel’s 700 Free #1′s Paused Through Comixology
Mar 11th
It is very likely you are one of many people disappointed that you couldn’t receive your 700 free Marvel #1 comics today or yesterday from Comixology. The comics announced yesterday at Marvel’s SXSW panel caused quite a buzz, sending thousands upon thousands to Comixology and Marvel’s digital comic store all trying to download as many free comics as they could. Unfortunately, Comixology was not prepared for this as the high amount of traffic acted practically like a DNS attack, overwhelming the servers. The Comixology team tried diligently to solve the problem over night, but it was unfortunately to no avail, as More >

Snyder & Capullo Bring Batman Back To Year Zero
Mar 11th
No, Scott Snyder is not writing Batman into a Nine Inch Nails album or a book by Jeff Long or Robert Reid. However, what he is doing is trumping Frank Miller by going back and telling the story of Batman’s first year as a caped crusader…the year before Year One. Batman: Year One was one of Frank Miller’s most famous Batman tales, a post-Crisis on Infinite Earth‘s origin for Batman that ran from issues #404-407 of the main Batman title back in 1987. It was the story of Bruce Wayne’s first year of Batman and has been the basis for Christopher More >
SXSW ’13: Marvel Makes A Huge Digital Splash
Mar 11th
Austin, Texas’ big music, film, and interactive media convention, South by South West (or SXSW) kicked off last Friday with a bang. But for comic fans, the real bang came yesterday afternoon when Marvel hosted its House of Ideas panel. There a number of major digital announcements were made for the company, including the answers to their teaser ads involving the 52 scratch marks, Project Gamma, and the large #1. During a panel hosted by Axel Alonso (Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief), Arune Singh (Director of Communications at Marvel), Joshua Shimkin (Marvel’s Director of Worldwide Digital Products & Premium Services), and Peter Phillips (Senior More >
Age of Ultron #2 Preview
Mar 11th
For years the heroes of the Marvel Universe have lived in fear that the artificial intelligence known as Ultron would one day evolve to fulfill its desire to wipe out all organic life and take over the Earth — and after years of solicitation, that day has finally arrived! This massive 10-part Marvel Universe-spanning event is brought to you by Eisner award-winning writer Brian Michael Bendis (Ultimate Spider-Man, All New X-men), comics legend Bryan Hitch (Ultimates, Captain America: Reborn), and the stunning colors of Paul Mounts (Avengers, Ultimate War). Sure, we were promised this some time ago, but Marvel is More >
Wolverine vol.5 #1 Marvel Now Preview
Mar 10th
As many #1 issues have existed with Wolverine in the pages, let alone title, it is almost astonishing to believe this is only the fifth US Marvel series titled Wolverine. Never-the-less, Wolverine is back in his 5th volume of the self-titled series, following up Cullen Bunn’s recent culmination of the 4th volume (that had numbering merged from all previous volumes) with issue #317. This on-going will stand beside Frank Cho’s current Savage Wolverine series, which is on its second issue, and countless other titles that currently feature the gulo Canadian mutant. Taking up writing duties this time around is English More >
Batmobile Automobilia From Eaglemoss - Because The Chicks Dig The Car
Mar 8th
For the last 13 years Eaglemoss Ltd has been wow-ing fans with their various licensed lead figurine partwork lines. Their latest line is called Batman Automobilia, featuring, you guessed it, Batmobiles (and a few other Bat named means of transportation)! These vehicles are 1:43 scale and die cast. Along with the overall review of this current product line, I will also specifically be reviewing Batmobile #3 in the series, the recent release of the 2005 Batman Begins Tumbler.
I have been a fan of the Eaglemoss collections for years, having collected various Marvel and DC Heroes as well as the full More >
