May the 4th Be With You Pub Crawl
May 4th has become a Geek holiday in recent years because of its similar sounding title to that of the classic Star Wars line, “May the force be with you”. So as Geeks find many ways to celebrate ‘May the Fourth be with you”, the people in Portland, Oregon have found a rather delicious and adult means to bring in the Jedi themed annual event. Star Wars fans with a taste for alcohol are going to make Mos Eisely out of Stumptown as they begin their pub crawl, in full Star Wars garb, at 5pm this Friday. The Crawl starts at the Rialto Poolroom and Cafe and hits up 7 other locations before last call. The pubs and hours are as followed if you’re interested:
- Rialto Poolroom and the (Down Stairs) Jack London 5-6:00 @ 529 Southwest 4th Avenue
- Star Theater 6:10-8:00 @ 13 Northwest 6th Avenue
- Ground Kontrol 6:10-8:00 @ 511 NW Couch St.
- Dante’s 6:10-8:00 @ 350 West Burnside
- Ash Street Saloon 8:05-9:00 @ 225 Southwest Ash Street
- Cross the Burnside bridge 9-9:15
- B-Side Tavern 9:15-10:15 @ 632 East Burnside Street
- My Father’s Place 10:25-Close @ 523 Southeast Grand Avenue
Somehow, My Father’s Place does sound like an appropriate place to end a Star Wars pub crawl. The crawl is of course 21+, with costume welcome, but not required. You can get more info at the Facebook event page, here. Sadly, we at Speak Geeky To Me won’t be attendance, but we are celebrating May 4th in our own way, with star wars themed content popping up on this site throughout the week. So as we near Friday and the big release of the new Avengers film, May the Fourth be with you!
