The Full Trailer For Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy

It’s here! Finally it is here! All I want to do is shout in the language of Planet X, “I AM GROOT!” Yes, my extreme fanboy excitement comes with the debut of the new and first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer. We see them all, from Starlord to Drax, even the shaved head of Karen Gillan as Nebula! Having premiered tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 2 and a half minute long trailer is both hilarious and stunning. But I’ll share more after you’ve all watched it below:

Described by Marvel as an action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will continue to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos. Here fans will get to see the modern Guardians of the Galaxy, pretty much as we saw them in Annihilation Conquest and the comic series written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. To some degree this is also what we see in the most modern incarnation, written by Brian Michael Bendis. Starring the brash adventurer Peter Quill, played by Chris Pratt, viewers will learn that Quill is the great Marvel comic hero Star Lord. In the film, Star Lord finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. This part is quite different from the Ronan fans of the comic might know, but still an interesting twist. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper; Groot, a tree-like humanoid voiced by Vin Diesel; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora (Zoe Saldana), and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer, who is played very fittingly by real life MMA fighter Dave Bautista. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance! The film is directed by James Gunn and also stars Karen Gillan, Glen Close, Laura Haddock, John C. Reilly, Peter Serafinowicz, Ophelia Lovibond, Djimon Hounsou, and Michael Rooker. The film hits theaters on August 1st of this year, so expect some amazing news come San Diego Comic Con, and many more trailers, posters, etc to come!
