Thanos Rising finally gives fans a glimpse into the character who first appeared in Iron Man way back in 1973. A character created and defined by Jim Starlin, but epically “killed off” by comic legends Keith Giffen, Dan Abnett, and Andy Lanning in both Annihilation and The Thanos Imperative. But apparently you can’t keep a god dead when he’s in love with Death. Now Jason Aaron (Wolverine and the X-men, Wolverine) takes the pen to scribe Thanos’ next adventure with the highly talented Simone Bianchi (Wolverine, Astonishing X-men) on art duties. This miniseries is said to lead into the next big Marvel event, taking place with the cosmic Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy series. Issue #1 is to feature covers by Bianchi, Skottie Young (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Magneto: Not A Hero), and Marko Djurdjevic (Thor, Mighty Avengers), along with a blank cover perfect to take to conventions for your favorite artist to sketch on.
