So last night’s episode of Game of Thrones continues high expectations for the series with some great new moments. But as the series continues, and deaths pile up, there of course needs to be new characters. Fans of the TV series were already introduced to major new figures like Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall, in the season 3 premiere. But now HBO has a new featurette starring the cast and crew of Game of Thrones as they talk about many of the new characters introduced this season. Discussed in the featurette posted below are:

Olenna Tyrell “The Queen of Roses” - Diana Rigg

Missandei - Nathalie Emmanuel

Mance Rayder - Ciarán Hinds

Tormund Giant’s Bane - Kristofer Hivju

Orell - Mackenzie Crook

Jojen Reed - Thomas Sangster

Meera Reed - Ellie Kendrick

Brynden “Blackfish” Tully - Clive Russell

Edmure Tully - Tobias Menzies

Thoros of Myr - Paul Kaye

Beric Dondarrion - Richard Dormer (though played briefly by David Michael Scott in Season 1)

To fans who have read the books, this will be a great moment to see many of your favorite characters finally visualized in the HBO version of the story. For those just keep up with the TV series, there’s a lot of new names that will soon become big players in the series. Some of these characters were actually introduced in previous books (and in the case of Dondarrion, in earlier episodes with an alternate actor for the bit role he held), just now making their way into the television world. The nice thing for fans of both is getting to here the creator of the characters and novels, George RR Martin, talk about these people.

Personally, as a fan of HBO’s Rome TV series, I’m amused to see Ciarán Hinds and Tobias Menzies working together again, having played Julius Casear and Marcus Brutus respectively. However, the two actors are unlikely to cross paths in this TV series, there might at least be some great reunion moments at red carpets and award shows. Now, before we leave you waiting for next Sunday’s episode, “Walk of Punishment”, check out a preview below:
