New York Comic Con ’12: Warner Bros’ Reels For Arrow & 666 Park Avenue

If you didn’t make it to some of Warner Bros television panels this past weekend in New York, you missed out some rather cool footage for upcoming episodes of Arrow and 666 Park Avenue. Yesterday at New York Comic Con, John Cunningham moderated the DC Collectibles panel with DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Jim Lee, Director of Creative Services Jim Fletcher, Director of Product Management Ryan Mansour, and artist Lee Bermejo. DC To Make Digital Comic Of Arrow

DC once made a great comic book character named Green Arrow who one day (October 10th, 2012 to be specific) would star in a TV series called Arrow (unrelated to his appearance in WB’s Smallville TV show). CW’s The Arrow - First Look

As we’ve talked about for sometime now, Warner Bros. is bringing the Green Arrow to television via their popular television channel, CW. However, this is not the blonde bearded emerald archer you might recall from the past 50 years of comics. No, he’s not even the swell, clean shaven, Robin Hood archetype you heard about (or perhaps even read) back in More Fun Comics #73 (way back in 1941). First Image From The New CW Series, Arrow

Arrow, the new CW TV series based of DC comic’s Green Arrow, finally has an image to help promote it’s pilot. The image, seen above, is of the costume Oliver Queen (Arrow…or Green Arrow for comic fans) will be wearing in the series. It is designed by costume designer Colleen Atwood, who has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design 9 times and won the Award for her costuming work on Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Alice in Wonderland. Obviously this costume is much different, but still quite nice and faithful to the comic character.

Smallville Season 11?!?

The famous Warner Bros. TV series about Superman, Smallville, came to a close with its tenth season late last year. However, now WB and DC Comics are coming together once more to bring Smallville back for an 11th season. This time the series wont be starring Tom Welling or airing on CW, as the series takes a cue from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and brings it’s 11th season to the comic book pages.
