There’s very little like a one day comic convention, where you can just escape away into the comic world without the high cost or commitment of a full weekend con. But most 1-day comic cons tend to be really tiny events, with a handful of guests at best. Long Beach Comic Expo is different. Long Beach Comic Con ’12: Aspen Panel

One of the more informative industry panels at this year’s Long Beach Comic Con was that of Aspen MLT’s. Aspen has had a strong tie to the Long Beach convention since it’s inception, and this year the panel delivered a bounty of great news about the companies upcoming year of publications. Many of the news pieces covered at this show had already been touched on at conventions like San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con, but in lesser detail. Long Beach Comic Con ’12: Grimm Fairy Tales Animated Series Panel

At Wondercon 2012, earlier this year in Anaheim, Ca. Zenescope Comics announced the launching of a Kickstarter campaign with an initial goal of $175,000 that would hopefully result in their long running flagship title, Grimm Fairy Tales, being brought to life as an animated series. 3 months, 1174 backers, and $188,970 later and production on the project began.
