Game of Thrones 4 UnsulliedIn the Game of Thrones you either win or you die…and there are plenty of deaths ahead in the HBO series’ fourth season. After the surprising (or perhaps not so surprising for fans of the books in which the TV show is based off of) deaths during season 3′s ‘Red Wedding’ it seems like the show will find a hard time topping itself, yet fans are desperately awaiting the next season of the show. Thankfully there are more deaths, weddings, and dragons to come when the show picks back up in April. Yes, April. April 6th to be precise, as HBO has officially announced the date Game of Thrones will return to air in the US. Now you know when to start making sure your Sundays are free again.

Season 4 of Game of Thrones will adapt stories from the second half of the Song of Ice and Fire’s 3rd book, Clash of Kings, and some parts of Dance of Dragons, much like season 3 did. New additions to the cast include Pedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn Martell (one of my favorite characters from the books), Roger Ashton-Griffiths as Mace Tyrell, Rupert Vansittart as Bronze Yohn Royce, and Indira Varma as Ellaria Sand. There are also rumors of some recasting of characters that had smaller roles in previous seasons, such as Gregor Clegane (The Mountain That Rides) and Tommen Baratheon. Hopefully we will get to see some of these new actors along with amazing new footage this Sunday when HBO debuts the first trailer for season 4 of Game of Thrones before their new series, True Detective. So far, HBO is promising fans glimpses of the new characters from season 4 and scenes from the actual episodes in Sunday’s teaser. Certainly something worth tuning in for, but don’t worry, if you miss it we’ll likely have it up here on the site shortly after.
