xivlogoWith Square Enix bringing Final Fantasy FFXIV: A Realm Reborn to the Playstation 4 and recently releasing new content, there has been a decent amount of buzz and new players joining the community. The community team for FFXIV has also been released from their offices to make live appearances and give insight into some of the ideas they have been coming up with to add a little bit more into the games. There have been screenshot contests for each of the holidays and it is possible we will start seeing other ways to show your creativity and win some exclusive items in game.

During the two live broadcast, they were kind enough to tease an event they have had in the making for some time now. Leaving very little to work off of except for past experience if you played some of their other games, but peaking everyone’s interest who has decided to be a part of the FFXIV community.

This week they finally committed to the event and let everyone know they would not be having one, but three Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festivals this year. Two are being planned for October, Las Vegas and London (seemingly in that order), and one in Tokyo in November. They have had events like this in the past that hosted guests from Square Enix, their sponsors and many community member who produce comics, art, podcasts and other positive experiences for fans. Conventions just would not be complete without cosplay and I am sure the community team will follow suit from previous events and let everyone show their costumes off on stage for everyone to be able to enjoy. There will of course be contest for other avenues of creativity and probably some random chance for the less artistic people in the community.

No matter what gets put on their schedule, I am excited to be living in Vegas to see what is happening and will try to stay up to date on any information as it is released.
