SG2M Travels: Anime Los Angeles 2013
Tomorrow sees the start to the first convention of 2013 here in sunny California, and it is the fast growing anime con known as Anime Los Angeles. Well it has been a little chilly here in Southern California this winter, this con might be just what people need to warm things up. With normal anime con events like AMV contests, masquerade, and late night dances, ALA also is offer special events like Cosplay Chess and a Gothic Mad Tea Party. The event will also host bands Eyeshine, Lemon Dropkick, Momotama, and have performances by Traci Hines and Stephanie Yanez, amongst others. So throw on your best cosplay and break the winter blues as we start up con season 2013 nice and early!

History: This will be Anime Los Angeles’ 9th year running. The convention started out in January 2005 at the Airtel Plaza Hotel, in Van Nuys, California. It was created and is run by “Hazel” Chaz Boston Baden, a well known figure in the anime convention community. From its start the equally well known Tadao “Mr. Shake-Hands Man” Tomomatsu has been the convention’s toastmaster, as he continues to be this year.
