DC Retailer Roadshow, A Perspective From Convergence Fest

Yesterday night was the DC Retailer Roadshow in Burbank, CA, the future home of DC Comics starting this May. The event is a semi-regular gathering of comic Retailers with the head of Sales, Publishing, and a few other admin/creative types from DC Comics to discuss upcoming events, sales tactics, incentives, and generally share ideas with one another. Great things like the popular Harley Quinn on-going that is currently being published by DC have spun out of these meetings, as well as some great and extraordinarily rare exclusive variant covers offered only to participants. DC Comics In June, New Titles and Creative Teams

Just a few short hours before today’s big DC Retailer Roadshow (the first of several) in Burbank, CA, DC has dropped the bombshell of June’s post-Convergence plans. What are they? Well, they involve 24 brand new comic series, a dropping of the New 52 branding, and some major creative team shake ups. This is certainly some interesting and, in a few cases, unexpected twists to the stories currently unfolding at DC. Frozen Fever - A First Glimpse At The New Frozen Mini-film

Whether you’re still singing the Oscar award winning theme song of Frozen, or you’ve long since ‘Let It Go’, if you’re a fan of Disney’s Frozen you’ll probably adore this new news. Elsa, Olaf, Anna, and the rest are back this spring to sing away the cold! In a nearly contradictory name to that cheesy preceding line I wrote, Frozen Fever is the title of a new 7-minute short film featuring the cast of Frozen. Best of all? It has yet another new song by the award winning creative team that wrote ‘Let It Go’, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. More >
