A Spoilery Look At Batman #28′s Last Page - ***SPOILERS FOR BATMAN #28***
Last week’s Batman #28 finally introduced Stephanie Brown back into DC’s New 52 universe, and the appearance was long over due. After years of fans clamoring for the former Robin, Batgirl, and Spoiler to return, Dan Didio, Scott Snyder, and Dustin Nguyen have answered the cries and given us just what we want. The only problem? We have to wait until April’s Batman Eternal #1 to see her again, as this last issue of Batman was just a short break in the Batman Year Zero storyline. But while we’re waiting for more Stephanie Brown, let’s take a look at the one page we’ve got. Below is the spectacular final page of Batman #28, as drawn by Dustin Nguyen, with inks by Derek Fridolfs and colors by John Kalisz.
Recently on Dustin Nguyen’s tumblr, Dustin talked about his design work on Stephanie Brown’s new Spoiler costume. When a fan asked if he had designed the new costume, Dustin responded saying “Yeah, it was really using bits from the past Batgirl costume and Spoiler combined. I had some yellow in there, but the eggplant/magenta color towards the end was decided by our fantastic colorist John Kalisz and Editorial team. I think it was a great call.” Take a look at some of the raw art from Dustin below:
