FightClub2Some of you might have seen USA Today announce Chuck Palahniuk doing a sequel to Fight Club yesterday. Yes, the character of Tyler Durden (who was portrayed by Brad Pitt in a film based on Palahniuk’s most iconic novel) will be returning…but not to the traditional prose we first met him in. No, this sequel is going to be found in sequential art. Dark Horse is bringing Palahniuk’s writing to the comic book pages for a 10-issue mini-series sequel to Fight Club. Illustrated by Cameron Stewart and David Mack, the new series will debut in May of 2015. It follows the story of Durden 10 years after the plot of the first novel, finding Tyler married to the troubling Marla Singer and father to a 9 year old son named Junior. Unfortunately, Durden finds himself failing his son much as he views his father failed him, which will take up an equally notable portion of the story in flashbacks. Palahniuk considers this story just as much an origin for Tyler Durden as a continuation of his tale.

Now I’m sure many of you are quite excited to read this comic series when it hits shelves, but you may not have to wait until May of next year to get your first Fight Club 2 paraphernalia or here Palahniuk talk about the book. Why is that? Well, do you remember Dark Horse announcing a mystery signing for Sunday afternoon of San Diego Comic Con? It turns out that mystery guest will be Palahniuk, signing alongside Stewart and Mack for an hour and a half on the floor of Comic Con! Best of all, attendees get a free print for Palahniuk to sign!
