Community LivesIt seems lately that there is a trend of big networks canceling cult popular TV shows only for them to find a new life with a pre-existing and new fanbase online thanks to great companies like Netflix. Now joining those ranks is the huge internet company, Yahoo, with the amazing TV series, Community. Yes, Community, that funny little comedy series from NBC that got canceled after its fifth season earlier this year. It didn’t seem like NBC ever had much respect for the show, moving around its release dates, cutting down season lengths, and even at one point firing their show runner before hiring him back after a very poor 4th season. Hopefully Yahoo treats Dan Harmon, Joel McHale, and crew with a lot more respect. Yahoo released the news with a fun and simple tweet before going into greater detail. Running off the popular Community hashtag, #SixSeasonsAndAMovie, Jamie Erlicht, Yahoo’s programming and production president, joked “You can’t get to six seasons and a movie without a sixth season” and that “Yahoo is the perfect home for the continuation of this journey”.

Season six of Community will consist of 13-episodes that continue to run in at half an hour in length, much like the show existed on television. Actors Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jim Rash will all be returning under the guidance of show runner Dan Harmon. Expect to see the series rushed on to Yahoo this Fall!
