DC’s Supergirl Finds A Home At CBS
It seems Warner Bros has finally learned its lesson about keeping it all in house, with DC properties seeing new TV shows at NBC in the way of Constantine and Fox for Gotham. But now CBS is getting in on the superhero fun with another DC property going to TV in the form of Supergirl. Yes, that’s right, everyone’s favorite female Kryptonian is getting an hour long episodic series on CBS somewhere in the future. Right now the show is still in the very early stages of development, but we do know it is being put together by Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler, the same guys that brought you ABC’s short lived superhero series, No Ordinary Family. We also know DC’s CCO, Geoff Johns, will in some way be involved just as he has been with Arrow, Smallville, and The Flash, likely writing an episode or two. Well it is too early for the series to announce a release date or even begin talking actors for the show, it seems CBS has made the series commitment and it is therefore only a matter of time until details start pouring out. Will it connect to the Man of Steel films? Unlikely. But I can’t imagine making a Supergirl TV series and not mentioning the male counterpart with the big S on his chest somewhere in the show. Stay tuned for more news as it becomes available.
