www.dynamite.comThe first issue of Django/Zorro has not only sold out, but it was also an exemplary comic form of a Quentin Tarantino movie. Of course, this is as it should be considering it was co-plotted by the director as if it was an official sequel to his popular American Western, Django Unchained. Co-plotted and scripted by comics legend, Matt Wagner, the first issue brought Tarantino’s Django together with a much older Zorro. The two became fast friends as they set forth on an as of yet unrevealed quest, but kept a strong pacing, dialogue, and feel that matched up with what you might imagine an actual Tarantino written/directed Django Unchained sequel might be like. This, combined with Esteve Polls wonderful interior art, has many fans eagerly awaiting issue #2 of the series. Thankfully, you can check out a small preview of second issue’s interior art down below. The comic, in true Dynamite Entertainment fashion, features many rare and exclusive covers, but there will be 3 main covers provided by top artists. Despite DC’s involvement, currently having the comic rights for Django, there aren’t really any DC creators working on it. But there are some beautiful covers from Jae Lee, Francesco Francavilla, and Gabriel Hardman (whose virgin art can be seen above). All 3 covers will feature virgin (textless) covers available to retailers under varying prerequisites. Issue #2 of Django/Zorro hits stores on December 17th, so if you’re a fan of either of these characters or Tarantino’s work I highly recommend catching up on the first issue so you can snatch up issue #2 that Wednesday.
