00b_FAK3-01-CMYKcrop[1]Shortly after celebrating her 10th anniversary, Fathom’s popular anti-hero, Kiani, will be back for a fourth volume. Kiani first appeared in 2004′s Aspen mini-series that bridged the gap between Fathom volume 1 and 2. The popular Michael Turner character has since had a huge effect on the Fathom universe, kiani_02[2]having been tied to many major antagonists of the series through blood (the DNA kind) and blood (the spilled kind), and she’s even been the star of her own mini-series three times in the past. In February of 2015 she’ll bring that number to 4 with the newest volume of Fathom: Kiani, written by Aspen MLT’s Editor-In-Chief, Vince Hernandez. While long time fans will undoubtedly be excited, this series will also be a great time for new readers to hop on as the creators at Aspen look to make a new appearance and design for the character.

“When Kiani was created in 2004, she was an instant hit with Aspen fans because of the depth of her personality and her unique character design.” says Hernandez. “And as our company and fan base continue to evolve, a new generation of readers will be introduced to this wonderful character, including a much larger female audience. We wanted to honor that spirit of progress by updating the look and feel of the series with an exciting new design.”

To help bring Kiani’s new make over to life, Aspen has tasked the All New Fathom artist Alex Konat, alongside returning Kiani volume 3 artists Giuseppe Cafaro and West Hartman to update the characters visual look and more. Cafaro and Hartman will then step on as the new artists for the 4-issue Kiani mini-series. All issues in the fourth volume will feature direct edition covers by Cafaro and Alex Konat, with limited Retailer Incentive Edition water-themed homage covers by Agnes Garbowska (My Little Pony, Soulfire Annual).
