For those of you comic fans who have been lucky enough to visit “the happiest place on Earth”, otherwise known at Disneyland, and ventured into Downtown Disney, you might have noticed a familiar comic artist’s work on display. At a rather epically large scale, in Downtown Disney’s WonderGround Gallery, you can see some simply stunning pieces of Disney art by the legendary comic artist J. Scott Campbell. It is part of their ‘Good vs. Evil‘ gallery, where various artists from several mediums have done Disney-themed art pieces which can be viewed and purchased in the gallery. Campbell has several pieces available to view and purchase at the gallery, including a rather huge piece in the form of a banner advertising the gallery, easily spotted from a distance in Downtown.

J. Scott Campbell has been doing fantasy/fairy tale themed art for quite some time, with his own calendars, comic covers, etc featuring various characters from classic fables. But the official Disney versions are a stunning addition to his portfolio and made only better by being officially approved by Disney and on display at a Disney theme park (or rather long block of stores on Disney property, at least). Campbell has done custom vinyl art figures, prints, and a stunning line of art, known unofficially as the “Her” collection, for the gallery. The “Her” collection also features colors from well known comic colorist, Nei Ruffino, who has worked on many of Campbell’s pieces as well as at DC, Zenescope, and Aspen MLT. Campbell has done signings in the gallery and really become a recognizable artist to Disney fans who don’t even know his association with the comic book industry. His first 3 pieces for the “Her” collection, Her Apple, Her Sleep, and Her Voice have all been heavily spread around Disney fan groups and have sold tons of prints and postcards.

But now Disney’s WonderGround Gallery is looking to share 3 more of Campbell’s pieces later this month. Debuting at the end of April/early May at the gallery will be Her Wonderland featuring Alice and the Queen of Hearts, Her Hair featuring Rapunzel and Mother Gothel, along with Her Slipper featuring Cinderella, Lady Tremaine and of course, her stepsisters.

All of this amazing J. Scott Campbell artwork is available for sale at the gallery. One-of-a-kind, original, and limited edition giclee artwork prices at the gallery will vary, but look for the deluxe print version of all of these pieces to retail for $39.95. Of course, whether you’re buying your own piece or not, you can at very least enjoy their beauty in person on the walls of the gallery for a limited time in Downtown Disney. As a Disney regular, I’ve seen these pieces in person multiple times and they are simply stunning and beyond adorable. Of course, it is quite the step away from J. Scott Campbell’s more sexy variations of classic fable princesses…
