IMO: The Heroclix Watch List
May 7th
In a new series of articles on a number of different topics, IMO is exactly that. My opinion. Don’t feel compelled to make life altering decisions based on the crud that flows forthwith from my diseased brain. That being said, onwards to the oblivion that is my thought process.
Heroclix. It’s a game of wee plastic miniatures on a map. One that I play, and love, a whole bunch. It’s a turn based strategy game using characters from comic books, video games, and movies of the same basic genre. And while this is absolutely a game, clix’n is surious (yup) bidness. More >
The Official Extended Trailer That Will Make You Want To Watch Gotham
May 5th
It has been over 10 years since I was last excited about a live action DC Move/TV series. That would be Smallville, a show that looked to have much promise. But somewhere back in the 90′s, all those Batman films followed by shows like Smallville, Birds of Prey, etc slowly wore me down. This was particularly depressing as a DC fanboy, as I watched Marvel recently do one brilliant comic book movie after another. Where did DC go wrong? Perhaps it was just Warner Bros and the CW. But with Arrow becoming a rather popular series, announcements from last year More >

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, perhaps one of the greatest days of the year for comic book fans. This year there will be a lot of incredible offerings for FCBD, but we might not all be able to grab every single one of the books. So if you have to choose, we thought we’d give you a quick review guide of some of the cooler and more popular titles available in stores tomorrow.

Clever and Curious
Apr 26th
We live in a world where our best and brightest are often tasked with trying to ‘reinvent the wheel’- make it cheaper, more durable, faster- give us better traction, better handling, better fuel efficiency- and they have. It’s a renaissance of wheel development. With all this innovation, it’s easy to forget that ‘the wheel’ was never our true objective- it is merely a conventional solution. If the whole world focuses on reinventing the wheel, we will never produce a hover car.
Conventions are not without their merit. I could spend this entire article focused on the semantics of a single word More >
The Last Ship - A New Series Coming To TNT
Apr 25th
A global pandemic decimates the world’s population, and it’s up to Jayne Cobb to save what’s left. And he’s got a ship. With guns. LOTS of guns.
Set to debut June 22nd, at 9pm ET/PT on TNT, the U.S.S Nathan James, a Naval Destroyer long out of port returns home to find the world thrown into chaos. Captained by Commander Tom Chandler, portrayed by Eric Dane (X-men 3, Grey’s Anatomy), with his second in command Slatterly, portrayed by Adam Baldwin (Chuck, FIREFLY), and almost to-pretty-for-science Rachel Scott, portrayed by Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Boston Legal), a paleomicrobiologist (don’t feel bad, More >
Wondercon ’14: Oh Hell, A Comic Worth Kicking
Apr 22nd
Undoubtedly most of us reached that point in our youths, or might soon reach it in the case of our younger audience, where our parents have simply “had it” with us. Hopefully in your case they didn’t send you off to boarding school. I mean, school already felt like Hell to a large number of us. But what if the school your parents sent you to really was in Hell? That’s the concept behind Oh Hell, a new comic by George Wassil and Dave Hamann currently being crowd funded via Kickstarter. Set in a world that was created in a More >
Wiz Kids Makes A Trophy Girl Of Harley Quinn
Apr 21st
Recently DC has arguably gone through the ringer for sexualizing the character of Harley Quinn. Whether it was the new costume in Suicide Squad, where Harleen Quinzel shed her full body suit for a far more revealing and barely tied corset and short shorts, or the recent overly dramatized art contest, Harley has been admittedly given a lot more of a sexualized presence in the comics community. Some might point to her nurse outfit in the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum as being the starting point of this. Other might point fingers at DC Editorial, Marketing, Artists, or even fans More >
Wondercon ’14: Venture Bros Art Book Coming To Dark Horse
Apr 20th
Dark Horse has always produced some wonderful licensed series tie-ins from comics to art books to even models. Recently, one of my favorite of these releases was the Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra art books. Done in a beautiful oversized hardcover, these books provided a great behind the scenes look at the series with never before seen art and commentary from the crew that created such a wonderful cartoon. But now Dark Horse has obtained the right to publish another, similar style art book based on another very popular cartoon: Venture Bros!
First rumored at last More >
