Dark Horse has always produced some wonderful licensed series tie-ins from comics to art books to even models. Recently, one of my favorite of these releases was the Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra art books. Done in a beautiful oversized hardcover, these books provided a great behind the scenes look at the series with never before seen art and commentary from the crew that created such a wonderful cartoon. But now Dark Horse has obtained the right to publish another, similar style art book based on another very popular cartoon: Venture Bros!

First rumored at last year’s San Diego Comic Con, this weekend it was officially announced at Wondercon that Dark Horse will be publishing a Venture Bros art book, filled with original artwork, character designs, storyboards, painted backgrounds, and props from every episode of The Venture Bros. to date. It’s everything a Venture Bros. fan could want and then some. But adding to this great art book, fans of the co-creators behind the show, Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, will be extra incentivized to pick up this ultimate art tome, as it comes with accompanying commentary on the development of the series from Hammer and Publick! The Art of The Venture Bros. will go on sale October 22, featuring some of the earliest art work of the Venture family and their various allies, enemies, and adventures since. Furthermore, comedian and writer Patton Oswalt is providing a very special foreword to the book.
