Sokka’s Sword From The Last Airbender Made Real
Avatar The Last Airbender is a long loved animated series that truly has a cult following of fans that attach their hears to almost every object, critter, and character created throughout the series. But one of the more beloved items in the show is a weapon belonging to the comic relief character, Sokka. While the character of Sokka wielded several weapons throughout the show’s three seasons, including the often reliable boomerang, his unique and character defining weapon was that of a special sword he hand crafted from a meteorite that had fallen to earth in the show’s third season. This meteorite sword, which Sokka lovingly called Space Sword, was used to help defeat the Fire Nation at the end of the 100 year war. Now, thanks to the skilled hand of veteran film prop-maker and blacksmith, Tony Swatton, Sokka’s Space Sword has been made a reality.
Swatton, star of Youtube’s Man At Arms webseries, has crafted some incredible video game, anime, and comic weapons on his show. Items that range from Jamie Lanister’s sword in Game of Thrones to Cloud’s infamous Buster Sword that appeared in Final Fantasy VII. Swatton’s work is both deadly and of the highest caliber, so when he decided to craft Sokka’s meteorite based sword he truly went and crafted a sword made out of meteorite!
