Polar BannerRipped out of retirement by an assassination attempt, the world’s most deadly spy—Black Kaiser—is on a collision course with a stab-happy torture expert and a seductive but deadly redhead. His mission only ends if he dies or kills everyone out to get him, and he’s not in the habit of dying. This is the premise of Polar, a stunning online spy comic in noir fashion by creator Victor Santos (The Mice Templar, Filthy Rich). The series started in January of 2012 at the Polar Comic website and is currently wrapping up it’s second chapter of season 2. But if you’re not one to read comics online, preferring a more physical form of sequential art (much like myself), then you’ll want to check out Polar when it hits shelves as a collected hardcover from Dark Horse next week. The collected Polar webseries, entitled Polar: Came From the Cold, has been re-scripted for its print edition and looks wonderful. In fact, we have a 13-page preview below to show you just how beautiful. Each page is done in a wonderful wide screen style like it was presented online (though in the preview we have two pages per image). Santos art is wonderful in Polar and truly is reminiscent of the old school espionage of Jim Steranko and the Sin City noir stylings of Frank Miller. So give the preview a good look over before picking up your copy on Wednesday, November 27th.
